Warszawianka (Whirlwinds of Danger)

about

About the song:
This is a modern day version of The Warsawian, a revolutionary song back from late 19th century, with English lyrics written in the 1920s, and now an additional bridge and new lyrics by Vii-Pii in 2017.
It was released on June 20, World Refugee Day, as the waves of migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean give a very actual meaning to the lyrics of this old revolutionary song. I've added a bridge to the original song, falling short of building a real one over the sea.

lyrics

Lyrics:

Whirlwinds of danger are raging around us
O'erwhelming forces of darkness assail
Brothers and sisters in hunger are calling
Shall we be silent to their sorrow and woe?

Then forward refugee, freedom awaits
Over the world on land and sea
On with the fight for the cause of humanity
March, refugee and the world shall be free

Too much the sea has claimed her toll
Don't let her take a soul no more
Reach out your hand, reach out to me
Till the children are safe and free

Too much the sea has claimed her toll
Don't let her take a soul no more
Reach out, my friend, reach out to me
Till the children are safe and free
